The digital home of European handball’s future is expanding to provide even deeper support for the next generation of professional players. Following the 2024 launch of the Respect Your Talent App, the European Handball Federation (EHF) in cooperation with TWIN announces a major content extension designed to further empower young athletes both on and off the court.
Since its debut, the Respect Your Talent App—co-developed by the EHF and TWIN—has served as a “personal game-around-the-game trainer” for aspiring players across the continent. Now, the App has just levelled up, with a total of 14 new training sessions added. The platform currently holds a total of 38 training sessions across seven key topical areas that are crucial in the transition to and maintenance of a professional handball career.
A new pillar of athlete wellbeing: Injury support
While the App already covers Mental Fitness, Dual Career, Nutrition, Sports Law, Anti-Doping and Media, this extension introduces a brand-new training area: Injury Support.
Physical setbacks are an inherent part of high-performance sports, but the way an athlete handles them can define their career. Recognizing this, the EHF had commissioned TWIN to apply our expertise to the psychological, social, and personal development dimensions of recovery—adding a vital layer to the App’s physical injury prevention resources.
Beyond content creation, TWIN had been entrusted by the EHF to oversee the quality assurance for the App extension. Our role was to ensure that every new piece of content meets educational standards and resonates with the specific needs of youth athletes in handball.
Learning, anywhere
The App remains a unique place where young talents can learn directly from the game’s current and former greats. By combining the wisdom of these ambassadors with international disciplinary expertise, the App provides a roadmap for navigating the high-performance environment.
With these new training sessions, the EHF and TWIN continue their commitment to empowering the next generation—not just as players, but as resilient, well-rounded individuals.
The new sessions in the previously established areas are:
- Sports Law: “Comply with sponsor contracts” (including pro tips from Ambassador Domen Makuc)
- Anti-Doping: “Deal with a positive doping test” (Nerea Pena)
- Dual Career: “Manage when things go wrong” and “Manage perfectionism” created by TWIN (Ljubomir Vranjes, Johanna Ahlm)
- Mental Fitness: “Establish effective communication” and “Overcome mental fatigue” (Vid Kavticnik, Katrine Lunde)
- Media: “Communicate like a pro on social media” and “Succeed in a press conference” (Isabelle Gulldén, Hans Lindberg)
- Nutrition: “Enhance muscle recovery” and “Training adaptation” (Viran Morros)
The Injury Support area has been added to the App with five sessions:
- “Master handball durability” (Viran Morros)
- “Prevent injuries — upper body” (Ana Gros)
- “Prevent injuries — lower body” (Domen Makuc)
- “Use injuries for personal growth” created by TWIN (Ljubomir Vranjes)
- “Manage injuries holistically” created by TWIN (Katrine Lunde)
